To join our graduate program, you need to find a lab before you apply. I am recruiting for a graduate student, to start Fall 2026.  Join us and study how bacteria recognize and adapt to the inside of a human cell!  If you are interested in a position in the Koestler lab (MS or PhD), please fill out the form below.

WMU is located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, 45 minutes east of Lake Michigan (and beautiful sandy beaches), and two hours from both Chicago and Detroit. Kalamazoo has a vibrant arts/theater/music community, with plenty of outdoor activities, restaurants, microbreweries, and community events. There is also the Kalamazoo Promise, a fund that provides college tuition for kids who matriculate through Kalamazoo Public Schools.
